Weekend Trip with the '22

Post by sarge » Tue Jun 07, 2022 7:13 am

Had a three day weekend. Went Saturday from Munich (DE) to Crikvenica (HR) via Austria's "Grossglockner Hochalpenstraße", following the streets via Hermagor to Passo Predilo that connects Italia and Slovenia, finally coming down to Croatia later that day. On Sunday I toured south to Zadar, went with the ferry from mainland croatia to the island "Pag", which was almost empty and very nice to ride on. Had fine lunch in Zadar before going back on the magistrale, almost empty that evening. Toured back home on Monday, using the short route (Rijeka - Trieste - Udine) up to Tolmezzo where I left the Autobahn in favour of some Alpine Touring. Riding Passo Carnico north to Lienz (AT) and then trough Austria, this time using the "Felbertauernstrasse" instead of the Großglockner.

Covered ~1500km in roughly 23hrs of riding time. Need new rubbers now, heheee. Weather was 15°C chilly in the mountains, perfect for cooling down. Croatia was hitting 30°C already, but the winds and cold sea air make it bearable. 10/10 weekend. Oh, and of course the bike was astonishing, absolute cruise missile. Only seen one other H2SX that weekend, among thousands of bikes. Effortlessly the fastest vehicle around, at least from my perspective.

What a nice trip! Nice pictures! Enough to make one jealous :-)

I can't wait to get to the Vorarlberg Alps end of June, visit relatives, tour around the alps there and stay in a lovely house tucked away in the forest. Luckily our '22 H2SXSE with 94dbA (due to Euro5) is still just below the 95dbA idle sound (Standgeräusch) limit for the Lechtalstrasse in Tirol in order to get to the Hahntenn Joch. The '18 H2SXSE had 93dbA due to an additional presilencer.

Aw damn they are at 95 already? Thought that was 98. Anyways, I'm glad that the SX is among the quiter bikes.
