Mine is at the other end of the scale. I have a 1973 Yamaha RD350 that I restored a few years back. I have good knowledge of these bikes from racing the later liquid-cooled versions but chose to not to mess with this one. I rebuilt it to completely original specs using genuine Yamaha parts. I had one of these when I was 18 and rode it like tomorrow didn't exist. Now, I ride this one with a completely different attitude. I just go out and appreciate it for what it was and realize how far bikes have progressed.

But THIS...THIS was the bike I so coveted in 1973, the RD350. It sold new for around $800, and I could NOT come up with the money!

Thanks for posting it.

Reciprocal I know the feeling I have a 1987 GSXR1100 in mint condition and I ride it now with the respect it deserves, back in the day when I was a young Marine I had a brand new 1986 that was stolen in Rancho Cordova California back in 1987. Found out the kid that stole it killed himself on it.

My B-King was only ever going to be a stock standard bike to be left alone as my legal ride, no mods or loud pipes etc, and was to be traded back in after a couple of years when something else took my fancy. Although it’s a fun bike the 16ltr tank, not being great for pillions or luggage and a few other things mean it’s not ideal.

Almost 12 years later it’s still here!
Wheels from a later model, different exhaust cans, mirrors, bars, rad and oil cooler guards and a personal plate.

I don’t use it that much but it would be strange not to own it now.
